I need your help!
I published Every Last One: The Rise of Sylvia Boone in February 2024. In a year and a half, I have managed to accrue exactly 2 reviews on Amazon.
That’s . . . not great.
Reviews are the lifeblood of an indie author. Reviews let potential readers know whether a book is worth buying. It’s a credibility thing—digital word-of-mouth, if you will. A book with a 4.2-star ranking and 100 reviews has far more credibility than a book with a 5-star raking and only 2 reviews. That’s book math.
If you’d like to help an indie author out (that’s me—JB, the indie author in question) please consider leaving an honest review for Every Last One: The Rise of Sylvia Boone on Amazon and/or Goodreads.

What it’s about . . .
In this dystopian adventure novel, our female protagonist, Sylvia Boone, an honest cop in a corrupt militarized corporate regime, discovers that high ranking officials are complicit in a global human trafficking operation. When the higher ups get wind of her meddling, she is directed to drop her investigation, or else.
That would be enough of a warning for most underlings trapped in an authoritarian system, but Sylvia Boone just can’t help herself. Her rebellion leads to a warrant for her arrest and she manages to flee the city with some of her compatriots who have been planning their escape for some time.
Thus begins the found family adventure that leads them further and further into the hands of the enemies they’ve been running from. And when their pursuit of safety eludes them time and again, they are left with only one choice—fight back.
Does that sound like something you’d be interested in? How about how a sadistic billionaire CEO gets his ass handed to him—by a girl? How does that grab ya?
And for those of you who are feeling weary of the dystopian shit show that we’re actually living in, I understand why another dystopia might not be what you need right now. To that I’ll just say that while many of the oppressive hyper-capitalist authoritarian tropes are represented in this novel, if you make it to the end, I promise, you’ll find hope. I ask you to trust in Sylvia Boone.
We are all Sylvia Boone.
If it’s still a no for you, that’s cool. Cool cool cool cool. Know any dystopian or science fiction readers? Share this post with them.
